Guest Seminar: THE OXHRATOXIN A STORY: What we already know and what we need to know
Presented By: Dr. Massimo Ferrara Dr. Massimo Ferrara is a research scientist at the Institute of Sciences of Food Production (ISPA), National Research Council (CNR), in Bari, Italy. Dr. Ferrara will discuss Ochratoxin A (OTA), a mycotoxin produced by Aspergillus and Penicillium species which is responsible for contaminating many food products including cereals, coffee, cocoa, grapes and derivatives. OTA is a potent nephrotoxin, classified as a possible human carcinogen (Group 2B) by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).…
