Optimizing and Use of Canopy Sprayers in the Vineyard

August 3, 2021 @ 8:30 am - 6:00 pm

$90

Event Description

Spraying is one of the highest pre-harvest costs for a vineyard. Doing it poorly can lead to increased disease and insect pressure and even unusable fruit. Technologies exist to optimize coverage and increase data acquisition during spraying, but users must know how to use the tools. This workshop will teach proper calibration and optimization of sprayers and introduce BMP’s of technologies that include rate controllers, directed and/or over-the-row sprayers, intelligent sprayers, and adaptations to airblast sprayers that improve coverage.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Teach proper calibration and optimization of sprayers.
  2. Introduce and show BMP’s of technologies that include rate controllers, directed and/or over-the-row sprayers, intelligent sprayers, and adaptations to airblast sprayers that improve coverage.
  3. Participants will know and practice all techniques.

WA State Pesticide Credits pending approval
