We are in need of a temporary employee to help us with the upcoming wine grape harvest. The right candidate will be punctual, possess a strong work ethic and have a passion to learn about the winemaking trade. There is potential for this position to turn full-time if all the previously listed traits are carried out through harvest. The vintage cellar hand works directly with the winemaker to complete the following daily tasks:

– Cellar Cleaning – maintains an organized and clean work environment.

– Maintenance – manages daily, weekly and monthly winery maintenance checklists.

– Grape Maturity Sampling – collects samples for the winemaker to determine ripeness of grapes for harvest.

– Crush Pad Operation – Load and unload press, manage destemmer and pump as well as press pan.

– Wine Movements – Includes moving harvested grapes to fermentation vessels as well as vessel to vessel wine moves.

– Barrel Work – Includes topping, ingredient adds, racking from barrels to tank and back, barrel stirring.

– Ingredient Adds – Addition of various chemicals and wine approved additives to specified wine lots.

– Forklift Operation – Includes loading grapes to destemmer and press as well as moving barrels and case goods.

Minimum Requirements:

– Highschool Graduate or GED certification

– Ability to speak and understand English.

– Ability to multitask and lift weight equal to and in excess of 50 pounds.
