Seasonal Wine Sales Student Position | WSU V&E | Richland Farmer’s Market

The WSU Viticulture & Enology program is looking to fill 1-2 seasonal positions for students workers in wine sales.

Qualifications

  • V&E student(s) preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods of time as well as work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • An outgoing personality and ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Must be 21 years of age or older and have, or be willing to acquire Washington MAST Class 12 Permit (cost to acquire will be covered for successful candidate(s)

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to visitors
  • Provide information about the WSU Viticulture & Enology Program
  • Lead visitors in wine tasting; describe wines, winemaking techniques and the Blended Learning wine project
  • Handle routine sales operations which include cash handling and  mobile point of sale system operation
  • Keep accurate sales records and complete necessary documentation
  • Follow procedures and comply with company, state, and federal policies
  • Complete set up and tear down duties which include, packing up/loading all booth supplies and merchandise, setting up booth space offsite at the Farmers Market, tearing down the booth, reloading/packing, and unloading back at the Wine Science Center
  • Maintain daily supplies and inventory
  • Represents the V&E Program professionally, graciously and enthusiastically

Schedule and Compensation:
Job Type: Part-time (7+ hour/wk.)

Pay: $15 per hour

Schedule: Alternating Friday’s June-October (TBD) from 7am-2:30pm (approximately)
*Option to expand hours, term of employment and responsibilities
