Bear Creek Winery has open positions in our tasting room.
Description of Bear Creek Winery and Lodging:
Bill and Dorothy Fry opened Bear Creek Winery and Lodging in the summer of 2004. Bill made wine as an “amateur” for 10 years, experimenting with local fruits and berries, before deciding that the time was right to take his wines to the “professional” level and open the doors to the Bear Creek tasting room.
In the first years of the winery the wine was primarily made from fruits grown on site and in friend’s gardens. We have grown from producing 600 gallons of wine our first year to 20,000 gallons in 2020 we have held onto our backyard wine philosophy, although our backyard has grown. We now source fruits from our own gardens, our neighbors, farmers market growers, the Matanuska Valley and people picking blueberries in the wilds of Alaska.
Our wines can now be found in restaurants, bars and stores all over the state of Alaska and we can ship to 40 states. We also offer charming, cozy lodging where guests can unwind and enjoy our hot tub, gardens, fire pit and more.
