Seeking year-round intern to assist the STEM Education group with STEM activities, event coordination, student orientations and program coordination. Intern will work closely with Office of STEM Education staff to learn the various aspects of STEM Education and STEM careers at national laboratories. Intern will participate in program coordination at a National Laboratory. Intern will assist with general tasks related to the logistics and set up of summer student enrichment and networking activities for onsite interns. Intern will be responsible for updating the activity registration site, helping to set up and tear down events, distribute event fliers, and other tasks as necessary. Intern will also assist with compiling feedback and other criteria for program evaluation and reporting. Will also provide general program support for the other efforts in the Office of STEM Education and general office tasks as needed. Intern will be given opportunity to learn about the National Laboratory system and prospective careers. May be required to work some evenings and weekends, depending on events or activity schedules.
Candidates must be degree-seeking students enrolled at an accredited college or university. Candidates must be taking at least 6 credit hours and have an overall GPA of 2.5.
- Event support, coordination, student programming or mentoring and general office experience preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have completed 2 years of college credits and be working toward a degree in a business, management, public relations or a related field. 3.0 GPA or above.
