The Agriculture and Maintenance Manager will provide overall management for field crop and specialty perennial crop research plots (500+ acres) using best management practices. The position will participate in development, implementation and maintenance of policies, objectives, short-and long-range planning; develop and implement projects and programs to assist in accomplishment of established goals for field crop and specialty crop research at WSU Prosser IAREC, including the Singleton Headquarters Unit, Roza Unit, Pear Acres, and Royal Slope. The position reports to the Prosser IAREC Director.
Required Qualifications: Positions require a Bachelor’s degree in related field and three (3) years of experience in managing an agricultural/industrial facility which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Positions require a valid driver’s license. May be required to obtain and maintain position
Additional Requirements: Bachelor’s in agricultural fields such as agronomy, agricultural engineering, plant science, horticulture, or a related field. Demonstrated technical expertise in orchard and vineyard management. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite / Office 365; proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience developing and managing budgets. Within 60 days, the incumbent must obtain a WSDA Pesticide Public Operator license.
