2018 Lab Intern, Dunham Cellars, Walla Walla, WA

Dunham Cellars is seeking a laboratory intern. The job will focus on all aspects of the winemaking process. Candidates must have a good team player attitude and strong work ethic as we will be working long hours in a variety of conditions. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. A positive attitude is a must and prior cellar/harvest experience a plus.

Duties to include but are not limited to:
•  Vineyard fruit sample crushing and analysis
•  Tank and Barrel sampling
•  Tank analysis to include: temperature, brix, ML and RS
•  Assist with nutrient and yeast additions
•  Stirring barrels
•  Assist Lab Tech with running analysis and trials related to fermenting juices and finished wine
•  Keeping detailed records updated accurately in a timely fashion
•  Perform basic cellar work as needed to support production
•  Assist Lab Tech in preparing sample for analysis

Qualifications:
•  Interest in wine making and wine production
•  High School Diploma
•  General Knowledge of fermentation science
•  Knowledge in agriculture, chemistry and Basic lab skills
•  Good computer skills, proficient in Microsoft
•  Good communication skills
•  Ability to follow lab procedures
•  Good computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Excel
•  Attention to detail and safety
•  Communicate well with others and work effectively as a team
