2018 Harvest Interns, Claar Cellars, Columbia River

Claar Cellars estate vineyards and winery is searching for 2 highly motivated interns to work with us during harvest from mid-August up to the week before Thanksgiving. You will work for a mid-sized winery working under the supervision of the winemaker. Harvest is a fast-paced period of the year with multiple work activities occurring simultaneously. It is important that you are interested in the wine industry, are punctual, have hard working instincts and attention to detail. This is a great opportunity to experience the entire spectrum of harvest from grape to barrel.

Job Duties Include:

Sanitation, equipment preparation and operation, juice and wine movements, yeast starters, fermentation, racking, barrel work, grape and wine sampling, lab analysis, work with safe operating procedures, work long hours.

Qualifications:

Applicants should be enrolled in a viticulture and enology program or related field.
Applicants must hold a valid driver’s license.
It is preferred that you live in the area or can find your own housing.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and work in high places on ladders, hoppers and scissor lift.
Experience with forklifts, tractors, dump trucks are beneficial.
Understanding of MS Office programs is beneficial.

Compensation ranges from $1500 to $2400 per month depending on hours.
