Undergraduate research opportunities are available to V&E students for Summer 2021, Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters. Undergraduate research participation is a great way to gain hands-on experience, and looks good on graduate school applications and resumes. Students also have the opportunity to compete for cash prizes in the poster competition at the Washington Winegrowers annual conference in February.
Research projects can be designed with faculty support according to students interest, or students can join existing research already underway.
Funds are available for students who choose to participate in these research projects, either as a stipend for projects earning college credit, or as an hourly appointment. Interested students should complete and submit the V&E Undergrad Research Application with mentor faculty signature. Student should either enroll in HORT495 for research credit (minimum 2 credits or 90 hours) which includes a $2,000 stipend, or be set up on an hourly appointment with max payment of $2,000 per semester. Students are eligible to apply for funding for more than one semester.
