SUMMARY:Sulfur Fungicide Toxicity in Washington Vineyards
DESCRIPTION:Dr. Michelle Moyer\, Viticulture Professor at Washington State University\, will share results from trials assessing the risk of sulfur fungicide “burn” under high temperatures. \nDuring the webinar\, she will discuss the following: \n\nDoes sulfur formulation matter?\nWhat is the role of spray adjuvants in the potential for phytotoxicity?\nIs temperature the sole environmental driver?\nThe field conditions required for high incidence and severity of sulfur “burn” are not common in eastern Washington; are fears of phytotoxicity overstated?\n\nWashington Advancements in Viticulture and Enology (WAVE) is the Washington State Wine Commission’s seminar and webinar series focused on wine research. WAVEx is the condensed\, shorter webinar series. Washington State University is a co-sponsor of the WAVE and WAVEx events. \nRegister here for the free webinar open to all \nTo learn more about previous WAVEx webinars. \n About the Washington State Wine Commission: The Washington State Wine Commission (WSWC) represents every licensed winery and wine grape grower in Washington State. Guided by an appointed board\, WSWC provides a marketing platform to raise positive awareness about the Washington wine industry and generate greater demand for its wines. Funded almost entirely by the industry through assessments based on grape and wine sales\, WSWC is a state government agency\, established by the legislature in 1987. \n  \nRESEARCH INQUIRIES: \nJulie Tarara\, Research Program Manager\, Washington Wine \n(206) 669-7127 / jtarara@washingtonwine.org
