2017 Viticulture Technician Summer Internships, Wyckoff Farms, Inc., Grandview, WA

Summer Interns Needed

The Viticulture Technician is an important contributing member of the Viticulture team. The position is with a large vineyard operation in Grandview Washington. We are seeking individuals who are enrolled in, or recently completed a Viticulture degree program and are looking for opportunities to gain more experience in the industry. The Viticulture Tech will be working closely with the Viticulturist and Assistant viticulturist throughout the growing season.

Duties include but are not limited to:
• Assist in miscellaneous special projects
• Using handheld technology to collect observations and field data
• Monitoring vineyards in many AVA’s for pest, disease, and other cultural practices
• Collect and enter data for crop estimates (vine harvesting, cluster counting and weighing)

• Investigative skill set
• ATV operation experience
• Must possess valid driver’s license
• Be able to lift and move at least 40 pounds
• Working extended hours outdoors in the elements
• The ability to read, understand, and write in English
• Communicates well (via in person, text, email, phone)
• A strong work ethic and the ability to work independently
• Formal education in viticulture or 2 years’ experience in the vineyard
• Ability to use a computer with working knowledge of MS Excel and Word
• Workload may change week to week, but it will typically be full-time (40 hrs.)
