Assistant Winemaker – Airfield Estates Winery, Sunnyside, WA

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: 2-yr or 4-yr degree in winemaking related degree program (Enology, Fermentation Science, MicroBiology, Food Sciences, Chemistry)


Work Experience:
at least two vintages in either a cellar, laboratory, or winemaking support position


Compensation:
  Salaried position.  $50-60K annually, depending on experience.


Job Description:

*Master Cellar Software: Orion – Blend Production

*Create and Input Work Orders and track all cellar movements.

*Help craft best practices for all cellar activities

*Oversee laboratory protocols

*Procurement and Logistics for all winery supplies

*Monitoring of all wine lots

*Supervise cellar crew and assign cellar work.

*Work with custom crush clients on their wine projects

*Work with winemaker on vineyard, harvest, blending, and bottling decisions.

*Represent the Airfield and Lone Birch brands to the public and to the trade.


Required Skills

*Impeccable attention to detail

*Strong Organization skills

*Good Communication skills, with winemaker and cellar staff (Spanish a plus)

*Good wine palate with the ability to pick out wine flaws.

*Strong Science background a plus
